Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is all geared up for his next release with Ranveer Singh, titled Simmba. Now it seems after helming Hindi film projects like Singham Returns, Dilwale and Golmaal Again, Rohit is all set to produce a Marathi film.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the film is apparently called School College Aani Life and will mark the directorial debut of Vihan Suryavanshi. Talking about the film, casting director Rohan Mapuskar told the daily, “It’s a light-hearted film set in Mumbai which revolves around four college boys. Rohit sir heard the script last year and immediately agreed to produce it as the story touched his heart and has never been attempted in Marathi before. We are all excited.”
Meanwhile, the film will go on floors in March-April and will feature four actors and two leading ladies, for which the hunt is on. “Both Rohit sir and Vihan decided that they don’t want established actors and newcomers will bring freshness to the script. Rohit sir is actively involved in the casting and will begin workshops once actors are locked,” added Rohan.
Meanwhile, will Rohit Shetty's venture into Marathi cinema turn out to be fruitful, is still left to be seen.
