The actor on her recent career upheavals and wishing to settle down with ‘someone special’
Rupali Ganguly has just faced trying times—that of her father, Anil Ganguly’s illness. However, she is overwhelmed with the support she received from colleagues and friends. “My father’s blood group is AB negative. It is difficult to get blood donors for the same. People from everywhere called and helped him out. This experience has revived my belief in humanity,” she asserts.
Quiz Rupali whether she was asked to opt out of Paritossh Painter’s play ‘See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil 2’ and Rupali denies it. “The play was heading to Dubai. I wanted to spend time with my family as I was just out of ‘Bigg Boss’. Hence I opted out of the show,” she explains.
When asked about her about walking out of ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii’ (Star Plus), she says, “My character wasn’t going anywhere. I just had to keep running away with the little kid.” She adds, “I do not believe in generation leaps. Saakshi Tanwar (Parvati) played my mother but looked more glamorous than I did. All of it didn’t make any sense at all.”
Of late, Rupali has received some Bollywood offers. “At that time I wasn’t in the state to work as I was just out of ‘Bigg Boss’,” she says.
These days Rupali is concentrating on her seven year old venture—her advertising agency. Interestingly, Rupali is also dating ‘someone special’. “Yes, I’m exploring possibilities of settling down with this person. But I’m not sure what this relationship will end in. It might just turn out to be a great friendship. If I am tying the knot, I shall announce it by mid-July.”
