Rupert Everett left audiences stunned with his appearance on a TV show as the My Best Friend's Wedding star looked completely different from his usual self, with rumours suggesting that he had undergone extensive plastic surgery to take years off his face.

The 49-year-old had lost his trademark tousled salt and pepper hair and wrinkled forehead, instead he sported a smooth faced look with a mop of carefully combed dark brown hair, reported Daily Mail online.

But the actor's spokesman has denied all the reports, saying that it was just some healthy living which had resulted in the youthful appearance.

"Why would Rupert need any surgery? He's a beautiful man and he even plays a woman beautifully. Any speculation is completely laughable. He hasn't had anything done and he doesn't need it. It's just some healthy living," said the spokesman when asked about the swirling rumours that Everett had gone under the knife.

The actor who won over legions of female fans with his rugged looks, announced that he is a homosexual in 1989, but his makeover does not seem to be going down well as celebrity websites lamented his "terrible face-lift".
