Actor Saif Ali Khan today provoked the ire of the media when he along with his co-stars from his upcoming movie Bullett Raja reached late by three hours for an event here.
The moment the 43-year-old reached the venue of a function, organised by the Delhi Election Commission, the reporters and lensmen reacted angrily and asked the 'Nawab' to apologise for coming late. The request was turned down by Saif.
"I will not apologise because it is not my fault... I was stuck in traffic. I should not be blamed for this chaos and I feel stars should not come to Delhi. This is my last visit to Delhi and henceforth, I will give interviews from Mumbai.
"If anybody should apologise it is the election officials as they didn't convey the right time," said Saif when someone from the crowd asked him to apologise for making the people wait for so long.
Saif was accompanied by Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill and movie director Tigmanshu Dhulia and also cancelled the scheduled press conference.
Later, District Election Officer (North) A M More told PTI that "he (Saif) apolosied. We from the district administration also apologised on this issue that he got late. This should be considered by the media... We are coming together for the cause.
"Generally stars have other engagements, he must be having some other commitments. He came here to give the message that voters should participate in the election." Later, Saif was heard apologising to a few people as he rushed out of the venue.
