Saif Ali Khan's pumped for action with Agent Vinod

For actor Saif Ali Khan, his upcoming action thriller is special for more reasons than one. Not only does the film see him paired opposite real-life girlfriend, actor Kareena Kapoor on reel, but the film also marks the actor’s return to action after a long gap. And though the actor insists that his film is no Bond flick, Saif does admit that it’s still a very guy-flick. “Yes, Agent Vinod has got everything that guys dream of doing someday. As a kid, I always dreamt of having guns and gadgets and chasing baddies on a bike. So, it’s exciting to be able to do all that on the screen,” says Saif. But doing it for the big screen was no child’s play, he insists. The actor undertook intensive training, including learning the basics of several forms of martial arts to be able to perform most of the risky stunts himself.

“Well, I’ve always been into working out and leading a healthy lifestyle, but the role required me to go the extremes and that’s why it was all the more important that I take on strenuous work-out regimes. The role required me to be at my fittest best, so it was important that the work-outs not be just about getting the six-pack, but also build stamina,” shares Saif.

As for the high-speed chases, the actor reveals that it gave him a thrill. “Action has always been a favourite genre. Of course, pulling off such extreme stunts is less riskier today than it was years ago, but it’s a risk nevertheless. And when a team pulls it off well, you feel good,” adds Saif, who, after Agent Vinod will be seen in a mix of films right from a zombie thriller to the romantic Cocktail and from the comedy Judwaa 2 to another comic avatar soon.
