The actor will host a musical and fashion event in Toronto, Canada as part of a film awards function.

Actor Saif Ali Khan will be getting back to the stage as a host, but this time it’s for the sake of charity. The event is aiming to collect funds during a film award ceremony and then channelise those funds towards charities that work with the underprivileged.

“Saif will be the host for the IIFA Rocks this year which will be one of the flagship events of the IIFA Foundation. There will be a music and a fashion event that is aimed at raising funds for deserving charities. This year, the event is ready to notch it up as it will take place in an arena in front to a live audience of around 7,000 people including guests as well as a ticketed audience,” says a spokesperson.

Saif will co-host the technical awards segment of the event where technicians in Bollywood will win awards for their work throughout the year. DNA got a list of the award winners even before it was formally announced.

“The event will also see several musical performances including by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy who will take to the stage to perform live for the audience as top supermodels from around the world are touted to walk the ramp in couture creations from India and Canada,” the spokesperson added.

Last year, Khan and girlfriend Kareena Kapoor had appeared at the awards event hand in hand. Kareena had cheered for Saif as he strummed his guitar on stage. But looks like this time Khan will have to miss his lady love, as she will be away shooting.
