She’s the youngest member of Bollywood’s ‘Khan’daan, but Arpita Khan harbours no aspirations of facing the camera. “I was never really interested in acting; I don’t think I’m cut out for it,” says Arpita.

Currently in the first year of her two-year course in fashion merchandising and marketing, Arpita dreams of making it big in the fashion industry.

“In keeping with the course I’m doing, I’ll be involved in the business side of fashion. And I might just launch a fashion label; one that will be on par with its international counterparts,” she enthuses.

If that’s not enough, she’s even considering getting into film production. “But it’s still too early to talk about it,” she adds hurriedly.

Ask her about her alleged linkup with Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun and she predictably replies, “We’re just good friends and that’s about it.”

On the family front, she’s the closest to her mom (Salma Khan) and brother Sohail. “Mom is someone I share the minutest details with. As for Sohail bhai, he’s the one I turn to more often than not,” she says matter-of-factly.

Dad Salim Khan is not far behind either as he always bails her out whenever she’s facing a decision problem.

“Whenever I’m confused, my dad helps me see things for what they are. I can always fall back on him,” she elaborates.

So where does Salman fit into her scheme of things? “More often than not, Salman bhai is very busy. But we have an easygoing relationship,” she says, adding that his straightforwardness is often mistaken for arrogance. “He’s very much misunderstood,” she reveals.

As far as Diwali and Eid  are concerned, she says the celebrations are on in full swing. “With bhai’s ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ having released on Friday, there’s enough excitement to keep everyone on their toes,” she signs off.
