Samantha and Chaitanya have stated that they are no longer a couple and have opted to "pursue (their) different paths" in a joint statement.

Siddharth stated that his recent 'cheaters never prosper' tweet was not directed at his ex-girlfriend Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who had announced her separation from her spouse Naga Chaitanya the day before. He stated that he exclusively tweets about his personal life and that he was not implying anything else.

Siddharth was asked about his 'cheaters never prosper' tweet, which came 'out of nowhere,' in a video uploaded online by NTV Telugu. He said in Telugu, “Why will it come out of nowhere, sir? I have been tweeting for 12 years now. One day, if I say that stray dogs are barking outside my house and if people come and ask me, ‘Are you calling me a dog?’, what can I do? I am talking about actual dogs.”

Siddharth claims that despite the fact that he tweets on a regular basis, he has never been questioned about any of his other posts. On being asked if it was a remark at Samantha’s split from Chaitanya, he said, “Please, I only talk about my life. There isn't any other connection. If you are associating it with something that it has no relation to, that’s your problem.”

Siddharth explained his post by saying he was having a chat with his Mahasamudram director about cheating being one of the film's themes, and it reminded him of a lesson he learned from his teacher. "What should I do if every cheater in the world comes up to me and asks if this tweet is about them?" he wondered.

Samantha and Chaitanya have stated that they are no longer a couple and have opted to "pursue (their) different paths" in a joint statement. She later denounced erroneous rumours that she was having affairs, didn't want children, and had abortions.
