Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker does not consider herself qualified enough to give advice to other females.
Parker's role of Carrie Bradshaw, the New York fashionista and columnist, in the series was a role model for many women, but in real life the 43-year-old actress fears to take up the responsibility of a counsel.
"I'm really loath to give advice because I don't think mine is any more beneficial than anyone else's. But the only thing I tell young women, if I'm forced to, is not to let someone else's opinion be your opinion of yourself, " The Daily Express quoted her as telling Easy Living.
"What I find funny is that from 13 to 22 you're like 'just let me fit in, let me be the same as everyone else', then at 24 to 40 you think 'how can I be different? How can I distinguish myself? '
"If you can somehow muddle through those hard, early years and still maintain what you know to be the truth of yourself then you're better off," she added.
