Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has signed up to be the brand ambassador of a state-of-the-art integrated film city, which will be thrown open next weekend in West Midnapore district.
"I belong to the industry and projects like this build its future; so I'm very happy to be the ambassador for Prayag Film City," Shah Rukh said in a statement in Kolkata.
Under a two-year contract to promote the film city, Khan has already shot TV commercials directed by Shaad Ali and photo shoot by Daboo Ratnani.
Planned as a one-stop destination for filmmakers, the Rs 1000 crore film city complex is spread over a sprawling campus of 2,700 acres at Chandrakona, 165 km away from here.
Designed by eminent Bollywood art director Nitish Roy, who had also designed the famed Ramoji Film City at Hyderabad, the phase-I opening of the film city will be done by Khan on April 15, Pryag Film City said in a release.
Besides owning the IPL franchise team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the 'Don' star has also recently become the brand ambassador for West Bengal.
