While the myriad fans of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan cannot help but discuss his onscreen chemistry with his heroines, the actor himself claims to be clueless of what that means. “I think chemistry is too deep a word…only media people use it,” said SRK.
“Kajol and I have had this long debate on ‘what is chemistry’…I’m sure you wouldn’t know what is the chemical name for CH3COOH, but you still love to say ‘chemistry’,” he added.
Khan will be next seen romancing actor Katrina Kaif. On being prodded on what he thinks about the Katrina-Salman chemistry in their soon-to-be-released film, SRK praised the two actors and the movie trailer. “It (trailer) is very nice…they have done many films together,” he said.
However, looks like King Khan wasn’t too pleased with the word ‘chemistry’ being repeated or perhaps he couldn’t manage to express more for his favourite frenemy Salman! “So I don’t know about the chemistry but it looks like a wonderful pair. I wish them all the luck,” he said.
Khan also congratulated Maria Sharapova for her silver medal at Olympics, as he admitted to being a big fan of the sportstar, who’s also also the face of the same watch brand he endorses. “A big congrats to Maria! Even if she hadn’t won a medal, I would still love her,” said Khan, regretting that he missed the chance to meet tennis star. “My biggest desire was to meet her, and I missed my chance in Dubai. So she signed a big poster for me and it’s still put up on a wall in my house.”
Known to be a glib talker, SRK comfortably dodged the awkward questions, while speaking charmingly on the rest. Khan, who will be working with Yash Chopra after a long hiatus of nine years (since Veer Zaara), emphasised that it is always a learning experience to work with younger co-stars. “These younger actors speak a new language…not in terms of speech but in terms of expression,” said Khan, who will be working with Anushka Sharma and Katrina in the film. “So it’s always a learning experience!”
