Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge released on October 19, 1995 and the rest, as they say, was history. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol became overnight heartthrobs and the film became one of the most iconic and classic tales of romance in the history of Bollywood. 20 years later, DDLJ will be screened in Japan at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka.

The production house announced the development on Saturday. "Yash Raj Films' DDLJ will be screened at the South Asian Gallery of the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan marking yet another milestone in its 20th year of uninterrupted run," YRF posted on its official website.

"The National Museum of Ethnology will screen DDLJ at the Indian Films Special Screening event with new Japanese subtitles as part of celebrating the renewal of its South Asian gallery as well as the 20th year anniversary of the iconic film," the post said.

DDLJ will be the only Hindi film to be screened at the festival, which showcases the best Indian films from different Indian languages. While there was huge celebrations in place to commemorate the 1000 week completion of DDLJ in Maratha Mandir last year in December, this year the screening will add on to the 20 year celebrations for the entire film team.
