Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia is happy to have roped in siblings Shraddha and Siddhanth Kapoor for his upcoming biopic on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena.
The Baaghi star will be seen in the titular role in Haseena The Queen of Mumbai while her brother will be seen as Dawood. Sonakshi Sinha was initially roped in for the biopic but the actress dropped out of the project.
"They have both been locked for the film which starts in November-December in one schedule. Siddhanth was one of the first persons to be locked to play Dawood after he did a screen test and they looked very similar," Lakhia revealed.
The film will chronicle the journey of Haseena from teenage to the time when she is 40-year-old and Lakhia says Shraddha fits the bill. He said, "Haseena's journey starts from when she is 17-year-old to 40, so Shradha fit into the role perfectly and she was keen to do something different and the opportunity for both (brother and sister) to work together does not come as often."
Lakhia said the film will be produced by Swiss entertainment, Karma films and Haseena's nephew Sameer Antulay, who approached the director with the idea. The Shootout At Lokhandwala director said currently the team is working closely to get all the facts and the research correct.
