Singer Kousalya has approached the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police earlier and filed a domestic harassment case against her husband. She has alleged that he abused her and beat her up as well. The singer married Subramanyam after dating him for a few years. it seems they were childhood friends. Things seemed to be ok in their marriage but suddenly things have taken for the worse. Apparently, fights between the couple eventually resulted in Kousalya going to the police. She and her husband have one child, a son.
Kousalya is from Nizampatnam in Guntur district. She did her schooling in St Joseph's school in Nagarjuna Sagar and did her graduation in music from Guntur women's college.
She also has a PF in classical music from Sri Padmavathi University. She made her singing debut in films in 1999 when she sang for Nee Kosam. She has apparently sung more than 400 songs in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Currently, she in on MAA TV's Airtel Super Singer as a team lead. She has won many awards including Nandi Awards.
