The Twitterati went abuzz with the news of Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel's comments on India being 'too poor' a country to expand their user base, that came to light recently, as alleged by an ex-employee of the social media app.
Soon after the reports of Spiegel's alleged claims of Snapchat being an app only for the rich people surfaced, Indian users took to Twitter to express their dissent, thereby paving the way to widespread negativity. While a lot of users started the hash tags urging people to uninstall Snapchat, our very own Billi Masi (aka Gaurav Gera) decided to present a different side to the matter in the latest video.
Popular stand up comedian Gaurav Gera is known for his Shopkeeper, Chutki and Billi Masi avatars is an active Snapchat user himself. So, in his latest video he takes up the issue and hatred spread against the app and addresses it in his own style.
In his Billi Masi avatar, he says that everyone is busy in sharing the articles that say that the Sapchat CEO has called India a poor country and people are urging others to uninstall the app without doing any kind of research themselves. He also says that people just share the articles by only reading the headlines.
Another interesting thing that he shares is that Anthony Pompliano, the complainant who has alleged that Spiegel made those remarks, is an ex-employee of Snapchat and that when any matter is taken to the court, people tend to say all sorts of things against the opposite party. He added that none of the reports that are being circulated say that "...as told to falaana dhimkaana Times by CEO of Snapchat." So the bottom line remains that instead of blindly sharing any article just by reading the headlines, it's important that one does their homework as well.
