His fame isn't restricted to southern film industry alone, thanks to the super success of Baahubali franchise. SS Rajamouli has now joined the list of most celebrated filmmakers in the country and everyone is keen to know details about his next film.
According to SpotboyE, Rajmaouli's next is not going to be a fantasy film and Sridevi and Malyalam star Mohanlal will star in it. It is going to be contemporary film this time, closer to reality and about struggles of life...quite unlike his last release. For the longest times there have been reports about Rajamouli being in talks with Mohanlal for directing a film based on Mahabharata too.
But the most interesting part of this new project will be Sridevi and Rajamouli's working together as the the actress was also offered the part of Shivagamani in Baahubali which was eventually plated by Ramya Krishnan. Baahubali director had revealed that Sridevi had too many demands, financial and otherwise, and was therefore not part of the film. Sridevi also confronted the issue and and had said, “First of all, I can’t believe he (Rajamouli) would talk like that. Secondly, I am not the kind to make any kind of demands. Whatever happened with Baahubali is in the past. Why are we talking about it now? There are so many roles that I’ve turned down in the past. I think it’s highly impolite to talk about the films you don’t do.”
Hinting at a patch up, Rajamouli recently confessed to regrets about talking about it in public. “As for whose version to believe, I guess it is for people to decide. But one thing is for sure. I shouldn’t have discussed the details on a public platform. That’s a mistake. And I regret it.” He even said that he has huge respect for the star who has been a flag bearer of the southern film industries in Mumbai for many years.
After a decent business of Sridevi's 'Mom' at the box office, reports are abuzz that the actress has signed Karan Johar production based on partition era and it'll be interesting if Rajamouli manages to bring the two superstars, Sridevi and Mohanlal for his next as well.
