Sunidhi Chauhan has three reasons to smile. This versatile playback singer is plotting to cut a music album ages after she sold her solo release Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira; secondly she has shed many kilos and is flaunting a perfect body; finally, for her forthcoming song in 99 she has copied the voices of legendary singers Suraiya, Shamshad Begum and Geeta Dutt and the immensely talented Mubarak Begum.

A source reveals: “There’s a track in the album What’s up in which the word what’s up has been sung by KK and Sunidhi in 20-24 different styles. Rapper Casey from Nigeria has also sung in it thereby bringing a different flavour. Sunidhi has sung the song in a hip hing-lish voice as well as with a slightly nasal tone like the traditional singers. To our surprise the voice that Sunidhi took out sounded exactly like Suraiya, Shamshad Begum, Mubarak Begum and Geeta Dutt.”

Sunidhi says: “The song required me to sing in the traditional old style and copying anyone wasn’t in my plan of things. It so happened that post the recording the voice I took out sounded like the classical Bollywood singers. It is quite a digression for me since my style is very hip and RnB.”

She also revealed to us her new music album plans. “I’m certainly working on bringing out an album but it’s too early to talk about it but for my fans I would like to say that they will hear something very different from me in it.”
