It’s finally confirmed. Grover has gone to Star Plus where he will start his own rival show named after him. A very reliable source reveals, “Sunil is in the final stages of negotiation with Star for his own comedy show. They are working on a format, and also the finances are being locked in.”

Apparently Grover is being paid as much as Kapil gets for his comedy show. Star intends to telecast Grover’s comedy show at the same time when Kapil Sharma’s is aired on Colors.

Says the source, “Would Gutthi appear in another avatar on Sunil’s new show? That’s the question which Sunil’s lawyers are currently working on. Grover’s legal team has been working on putting together all the footage of Sunil Grover’s various avatars as women in various shows across the years on CDs and pen-drives to present in court.”

When contacted Sunil laughed about the popularity of his drag act.  “Whatever I do Gutthi or Kunwari, these women will follow me. The thing is, I love women. I love everything about them,” says Grover who is happily married in real life. “Women characters toh honge mere career mein.
But I can’t be trapped in just one gender. I also want to play male characters. The other day I was on a channel with Baba Ramdev. And I found  him so fascinating. I  used to imitate Shah Rukh Khan on a show called Kaun Banega Champu. And now if Shah Rukh says he liked watching my comedy, I feel something right is happening.”

Far from being upset by the aggressive stance taken by Colors over the ‘Gutthi’ issue Grover is thankful to them. “It was they who compelled me to expand my horizons. If they hadn’t gotten aggressive I wouldn’t be on the threshold of a new beginning.”
