Kollywood actor Suriya didn't have a Diwali release and is unlikely to have a Pongal release as well. According to sources, his film 24 with director Vikram Kumar will mostly release only in April next year. There were many reports floating around that the movie will release for Pongal, but that is unlikely according to sources. Apparently, the movie has a lot of post-production work which will take the time to complete.
The 24 team recently went to Poland to shoot some important scenes and songs. It's rumoured that Suriya plays a dual role (or is it triple?) in the movie which has two heroines Samantha and Nithya Menen. Actress Samantha pairs up with Suriya for the second time after Anjaan. The buzz is that she plays a cute, girl-next-door character in this movie with romance and comedy thrown in.
Actor Girish Karnad also plays an important role in this psychological thriller. Music is by AR Rahman.
Meanwhile, it is Pandiraj's Pasanga2: Haiku that will be Suriya's next release. He has done a cameo in this film which his production house, 2D Entertainment, has also produced. Amala Paul plays the lead role in this film which is centred around children.
