It seems that the bad news in 2016 just won't let up. A year that has seen its share of downs just received another black mark when YouTube sensation Taher Shah, left Pakistan fearing for his life. Shah, who has fans on both sides of the border, left Pakistan after receiving death threats.
Pakistan's Samaa TV reported that a statement from his management said "Pakistan's famous singer Taher Shah, who is known for spreading love through his music had been receiving life threats for quite some time."
The statement also added: "Recently Shah made his film debut with Pakistan's first online film and it seems like the haters are not admiring his approach of using art to the benefit of mankind.
Perhaps that is the reason why he was getting threats. Shah was left heartbroken when the government failed to provide him security and as a result of which he decided to leave Pakistan."
His manager confirmed the news commenting he didn't know where Taher Shah had gone. Shah who rose to fame in 2013 with the video Eye to Eye left Karachi on Tuesday. Hopefully, this doesn't mean that God's gift to mankind will stop performing.
