Tollywood’s most awaited film - the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Thani Oruvan - is all set to hit floors soon. Ram Charan will essay Jayam Ravi's role while Shruti Haasan has been roped in for Nayanthara's role.
Actor Aravind Swamy is reprising his role again in the Telugu version. He reportedly charged a whopping amount of Rs 5 crores. The filmmakers felt that no one could play this role better and agreed to pay him the huge amount. The pre-production work is going on in a full swing and it has been tentatively titled as Rakshak.
According to sources, this film will have its pooja in the last week of January and the regular shoot will take place from February 10 in Hyderabad. The film is directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts. Initially, producer D V V Danayya of Universal Media acquired the remake rights of this thrilling cop story but after the poor result of his film Bruce Lee he stepped out of this venture.
Thani Oruvan is originally written and directed in Tamil by Mohan Raja under AGS Entertainment which grossed over Rs 70 crore.
