Mumbai will be joining hands with the rest of the world in observing the late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s first death anniversary on June 25. The Jackson family is aware of this and they have thanked people in this country for remembering Michael.
“We are aware that India will be observing Michael’s death anniversary and the family would like to thank everyone for that,” a member from the Jackson family told After Hrs through a common friend.

‘Hot’ yoga guru of Hollywood, Vikram Chowdhury’s wife Rajashree, with the support of her husband and musician Bappi Lahiri, will bring out an album where they’ll feature two songs in Michael’s honour  — Don’t Say Goodbye and a remix track Michael O’ Michael. Don’t Say Goodbye was recorded in Los Angeles with Michael’s backup singers Ricky Nelson, Terry Young and Glenda. The royalty from the track downloads will go to poor children in Maharashtra. “We are touched by the gesture,” says Michael’s brother Jackie.

Bappi Lahiri, who has been in constant touch with the Jackson family, said the family has organised a private get-together to remember Michael. “Michael’s children (daughter Paris and sons
Prince Michael Jackson I and Prince Michael Jackson II) will be there. Janet will also be a part of the gathering,” says Bappi, adding that  town Gary in Indiana, USA, where Michael spent his childhood, has organised a tribute tomorrow. Michael’s mother Katherine is expected to attend the gathering.

According to a statement forwarded to After Hrs by a Jackson family aide, Katherine had said, “I know that Michael would be very honoured and very pleased that his fans all over the world are coming together to celebrate his life.”
