For independent rock bands trying to make it big, there is no shortcut to success. But there are very few platforms like the popular TV show, Launch Pad which get them international gigs and contracts with record labels.

This time around seven bands have made it to the finals of the show and are currently fighting it out at the house of rock on Madh Island. Though the show will be on air in March, we give you a sneak peak into some of their sound stylings and tell you what we think of them. We must say, we found the line-up quite impressive!

Workshop
Their music is a blend of rock, pop, jazz, metal and hip hop rolled into some hilarious performances on stage. Their video Bunty Aur Mallika Sherawat had become a rage on youtube. Watch out for these guys. They are not just musicians but entertainers!

Faridkot
The lead singer Inderpreet Singh writes some good Punjabi and Hindi lyrics. A solid folk rock band, they have been a hit in the college circuit in Delhi. They stand a good chance at getting a chance at the much-covetted launch of a lifetime.

Reverse Polarity
The 20-year-olds came together just six months ago. Being a metal band could be a disadvantage for this talented bunch at this competition, but their great chemistry and awesome lead vocals could take them to the top.

Circus
The Delhi-based funk and electronica boys played at several gigs last year. A fun bunch to watch, these guys connect with the audience.

Cassini’s Division
They’ve been on the Kolkata music scene for the past seven years and their brand of some very original alternative rock is definitely some of the best we have.

Blank Noise
Blank Noise has been playing for almost three years now. A fairly experienced and Hindi rock band, they’ve released an album as well.
