Akshay Kumar in '2.0'

'2.0' starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson is slated to hit the silver screens on November 29

On November 3, the trailer of one of the most anticipated and mammoth projects of Indian cinema, 2.0 was released at a grand event in Chennai.

From the video that the makers of the film shared, it is no revelation that apart from VFX, a lot of time and energy has gone into making the characters played by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar look very real and believable.

Especially, when it comes to Akshay Kumar's character, a lot must have gone into making him look the way he does, everytime they had to shoot.

Speaking about the same, at the trailer launch of the film, Akshay said that his role in the upcoming multilingual science-fiction action drama demanded him to wear more makeup than he had worn in his entire career as an actor.

In 2.0, Akshay essays the role of the antagonist, and marks his debut in Tamil film industry.

Akshay Kumar also went on to say that working on the project had been both challenging and fun.

The actor said, "It was a very challenging role and it took a toll on my body. But the pain and sacrifice was worth it. My character required around four hours of prosthetic makeup and another hour and a half to remove it. In my whole career, I've never put so much of make-up."

Not just fans, but Rajinikanth was also all praise for his co-star, Akshay as he mentioned the latter as hard working.

"Akshay Kumar is one of finest actors. He had to put heavy makeup and lenses throughout but Akshay pulled it off without any complaints. His confidence never fails to entertain the audience. Hats off to him," the 67-year-old star said.

Directed by S. Shankar, the film, also starring Amy Jackson as a droid, is a sequel of 2010 film Enthiran, released in Hindi as Robot

The flick will hit the silver screens on November 29.
