Television actress Claire Monica Castelino, 29, finds herself as the protagonist and the victim in a high-tension drama in her married life with assistant director Satyaprakash Singh, alias Raj Singh. Castelino has lodged a police complaint against Singh for demanding Rs50 lakh from her and then hacking into her Facebook account and posting vulgar content and videos of her.
Castelino — who has acted in serials like Pratigya, Maniben.com and Pyar ki yeh ek kahaani among others — met Singh during the shooting of Jhunki in 2009. The two fell in love and had a registered marriage in July 2010. She, however, did not inform her family about the same and the duo continued to stay in their respective homes. Castelino and Singh had a common dream — to start a film production company.
But trouble began after marriage, Castelino said in her complaint. “I got the first shock two-three days into my marriage when I saw ‘Archana love’ flashing on my husband’s cellphone. I answered the call as my husband was having a shower. The person on the other side said she was Singh’s wife and asked me who I was,” the actress told the police. “My husband brushed aside the episode saying someone was playing a prank.”
The ordeal did not end there. Castelino said she was harassed by Singh who repeatedly demanded money from her and threatened to make her marriage public if she refused. “He would shout and fight with me. He took over Rs8.60 lakh from me,” Castelino said.
Things took an ugly turn when Singh began pressurising Castelino to sell her Versova flat and give him Rs50 lakh to start a film production company. After she refused, Singh hacked into Castelino’s Facebook account and posted vulgar content and videos of her on the site.
In her statement, Castelino said Singh’s father said the aspiring director had done the same with five women in the past. “Singh is untraceable and cannot be reached on his cellphone either,” said a police officer. Senior police inspector Sharad Borse refused to comment saying the matter is under investigation.
