The news about the Masss director doing a Chennai 28 sequel has been doing the rounds since October last year. When director Venkat Prabhu announced his association with director Gautham Menon's banner Ondraga Entertainment, there were rumours it was for the Chennai 28 sequel. Then it was stated that the cast would be the same, but the script would be completely different and have nothing to do with Chennai 28.
Now, it has been confirmed that director Venkat Prabhu is doing the sequel to his superhit film. "Yes, I am doing the sequel to Chennai 28. It will be with my boys," he confirms. So we will see Jai, Shiva, Nithin Sathya and Premgi get together once again. While in Chennai 28 they were all younger, here we will see the boys a little grown up, but up to the same antics. Are they all still single? Is anyone married? Do they still play gully cricket as well as before? Who are the new team members and the new romances? Well, we'll have to just wait and watch.
Ask the director when he is starting the film and he says, "The movie will go on floors in March." As for the music director, Venkat Prabhu revealed that Yuvan Shankar Raja will score the music. "Who else?" he smiles.
Venkat Prabhu recently hosted the Tamil segment of the IIFA Utsavam awards show in Hyderabad with Shiva.
