Having watched the trailer of Emraan Hashmi-Vidya Balan starrer, Hamari Adhuri Kahani one can’t help but compare it with Jackie Shroff-Manisha Koirala-Nana Patekar’s Agni Sakshi. In fact, there are several films — Daraar, Yaarana, etc with the same plot all ripped off from the Hollywood film Sleeping With The Enemy.
It is about a woman being married to a possessive man who is a wife-beater. When another man comes into her life and she dares to escape from the abusive husband, he hounds and terrifies her saying he will never leave her. In the Hamari Adhuri Kahani trailer Rajkummar Rao is shown as the abusive husband who is jailed. Emraan Hashmi falls in love with Vidya Balan and just when she is warming up to him, an incarcerated Rajkummar is saying he will never allow his wife to leave him!
