Director Chimbudevan’s Puli starring Vijay, Shruti Haasan, Hansika and Sridevi, seems to be in some trouble. Director Anbu Rajashekar has filed a case in the Thanjavur Court asking for a stay on the release of the film. The case has been scheduled for hearing on September 28.
Rajashekhar is reportedly not happy with the fact that the Kaththi issue has not been settled and that Vijay is set to release his next film. Anbu Rajashekar had filed a case in Thanjavur last year against the Kaththi producers, director AR Murugadoss and Vijay. He alleged that Kaththi’s script was originally his.
Rajashekar claims that he made Dhaaga Bhoomi (Thirsty Earth) and this was translated onto the big screen as Kaththi. In the petition he named AR Murugadoss, Vijay, Ayngaran Karunakaran and Lyca Subashkara. This case has been continuously postponed and is now scheduled for hearing on October 26.
On September 22, Rajashekar filed a second case against Vijay’s Puli asking for its release to be stalled. The sessions judge has issued a notice to Vijay as well as AR Murugadoss to respond. When dna tried to reach Puli producer Shibu Thameens for comment but did not receive a response from him.
