Champion boxer Vijender Singh wants to be a model again and doesn’t miss the cop’s uniform.

Olympic medalist Vijender Singh is happy that his modelling career has kick-started again. The champion boxer also admits that he is also open to doing bit roles in movies if his choc-a-bloc boxing schedule allows him to do so.

“I used to be a small-time model before I started off as a boxer. I enjoyed that experience. Thank God! After my wins at the Olympics, I am getting a few offers to endorse a few brands and model for them. Modelling for my brands has brought my earlier memories back. I am going back to those days when my money from my modelling assignments went towards funding my boxing lessons,” says Vijender.

According to Vijender, he is also willing to make his debut in Hindi films but rues about his choc-a-bloc schedule for being unable to do so.

“I want to act in an action film where I can show off my skills on the screen but it seems that movies will have to wait for the time being. Boxing is my first priority because it is because of boxing that I am talking to you. It’s my bread and butter and a passion that I had been following ever since I was a small child. But take note of this, I am going to act in a Hindi movie as soon as I get some time.”

Vijender also admits that being a cop has also become difficult for him but he says that the police department has given him a leverage to help him pursue his boxing career.

“I just go to the office (Vijender is the deputy superintendent of police of Karnal, Haryana) sit there, chat with the seniors and come back. I don’t work at all. The Punjab Police  top bosses have asked me not to think about duty at all. ‘Boxing comes first’, all of them tell me. Wait! I want to play a cop on screen too!” he ends.
