The Zee Muzic anchor is all set for the release of his new album with 'groovy' tracks.

As the anchor of 'Bollywood Tonight' on Zee Muzic, Vikas Bhalla is one of television's best recognised faces. Also being part of 'Shanno Ki Shaadi' has enabled him to tap his potential for comic roles. But Vikas hits the perfect notes where his first love, music, is concerned. The singer reveals, "I'm working on a 10-track album of groovy and peppy numbers which should release in September," he says, adding excitedly, "for the video we are thinking of roping in a Bollywood heroine."

Incidentally, Vikas' debut album 'Awara' had the video of 'Dhuan' featuring him. This was followed by a remix album 'Aise Na Mujhe Tum Dekho'. Though his music is contemporary; he's a trained Hindustani classical singer from Allahabad University and insists that his regular riyaz helps tremendously.

Coming back to anchoring, Vikas says, "The high of anchoring is that there is no other actor opposite you. It is just the camera. An anchor lends his style and individuality to the show coupled with knowledge of the basic premise." On the film front, Vikas is keenly awaiting the release of 'Marigold' where he plays an Indian superstar.

Though Vikas' world revolves largely around wife Punita, their six-year-old daughter Sanchi and four-month-old son Veer, his sway over female audiences cannot be ignored. Urge him to reveal what he terms as sex appeal in a woman, and Vikas says, "It's her overall persona – her physicality and her mental and emotional strength."

And what's success? "The happiness of being a good son, husband and father," he ends.
