Salman Khan, apart from gearing up to promote Kabir Khan's Tubelight, is also lending his voice to the animated film Hanuman Da'Damdaar. The movie on one of India's most popular deities is a jungle adventure film that is supposed to depict the story of the young Maruti praying to become a stronger and more adventurous kid. This comes true as he is led into a series of jungle adventures, tracking his journey from the 'Bhola-Bhala Bajrangi to Hanuman Da'Damdaar'. Salman seems like the perfect fit for the role, given that he played a devout Bajrangbali devotee in his blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The trailer for the animated venture is now out, released by R.A.T films. The trailer features the young Maruti on his various adventures, flying through the mouths of alligators, falling off cliffs, animal parades (including blue whales and penguins) and, of course, classic Salman action scenes. The trailer uses contemporary lingo and plot devices, with phrases like 'brothers forever', 'peace', 'bhidu' and so on. Salman even utters his famous dialogue 'Ek baar jo maine committment kar di'. He Bhagwaan (no pun intended)!
The film features voice overs of Salman as the title character, Javed Akhtar as Valmiki, Raveena Tandon as Anjani, Vinay Pathak as Popat Sharma (a parrot reporter in the jungle, no less!), Makrand Deshpande as Vishrav, Saurabh Shukla as Kesari, Chunky Pandey as a tourist guide and Kunal Khemu as Indra. The film will see its release in theatres on May 19, 2017.
