Very few Bollywood actors have been able to make an impact on television and actor Amrita Singh happens to be one of them. Playing Nitya Nanda in Balaji’s ‘Kavyanjali’ (Star Plus), Amrita not only wowed audiences with her dramatic confrontations with Anjali (Anita Hasandani) but was also the show’s major TRP driver.
What is intriguing, however, is her officially quitting the show, even before it drew to a close (scheduled towards the end of August). Insiders reveal that it was professional ethics which motivated Amrita to take this decision. Apparently, the actor didn’t want to be paid for the last non-working month, her character having died in the show.
Incidentally, the actor, who is sporting a svelte look, has signed Sanjay Gupta’s films ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ and ‘Dus Kahaniyan’. Amrita is also keen to accept other interesting film projects. For someone who impressed with her brilliance in the role of Bhagat Singh’s mother in the film ‘23 March 1931 Shaheed’ and the recent ‘Kalyug’, this could well be just the turning of a new page.
