It was quite a shocker for actor Genelia Deshmukh when she learnt that her name has been hauled up in a cheating case in Andhra Pradesh.
There is apparently a case that has been filed against her and five others of the real estate company Anjaniputra Infrastructure Pvt Ltd for reportedly defaulting on giving possession of duplex house to a customer who had paid the full amount. Genelia’s name has been dragged into the controversy as she is supposedly the face of the brand that the company is in trouble for.
As per reports, a local court on Friday ordered the Hyderabad police to file a case against Genelia, on the complaint by Chatta Tirupathaiah. The actor is apparently furious as her name has been dragged into the controversy for no fault of her’s.
She insists that she is not the brand ambassador and does not have any part to play in the company. Her spokesperson said, “This is to affirm that Genelia does not endorse or sit on the board of directors for any real estate brand currently. Six years ago, she did a one time campaign photo shoot, long before this project commenced. Beyond that, she has absolutely nothing to do with the said project or the company. This information is news to us and Genelia and there is absolutely no truth to the matter.”
