Kapil Sharma's possibly the most renowned face on Indian television today. Thanks to his much loved comedy show, Comedy Nights with Kapil. And here comes his big Bollywood debut- Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon which released this Friday. So will Kapil be able to spell magic at the box office the way he spelled magic on small screen? Let's find out.
An amazing occupancy!
Despite average to negative reviews, Kapil Sharma's debut film has taken a flying start at the cash registers. Thanks to his star power, people, especially Kapil's fans have flocked to the theatre to catch the comedian's Bollywood break. The film which released around 1500 screens this week opened up to around 30-35 percent occupancy around the country, which is great. Why? Even many big budget Bolly films this year could not hold on to a 30 percent occupancy on its first day.
First day kitna hoga?
The occupancy suggests that the film will have a decent opening. But if you consider all other newcomer debut releases, Kapil will have a bombastic opening. Why? Early trade estimates suggest that the film will rake in over Rs 8 crore on its first day, which is amazing for a film of this stature.
Highest for a newcomer?
Along with great occupancy and collections, Kapil might also take the cake when it comes to beating all his other contemporary debutantes. While Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Student Of The Year still has the record figure of Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day, recently it was Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero which took the second spot after minting Rs 6.85 crore on its first day. With over Rs 8 crore estimated to come on Friday, Kapil's KKPK might as well be the biggest opener for any newcomer's film in Bollywood. Now, that's a record for sure!
