Kalki 2898 AD’s phenomenal start at the box office has been noted not just by fans but also by industry insiders. The film is also being praised for its visual effects and world-building. Among those in praise of the spectacle was Kannada star Yash, best known for the KGF films. Yash congratulated the team of Kalki hours after it registered the third-biggest opening in Indian cinema history, displacing KGF Chapter 2.
Taking to his Twitter handle Yash shared a poster of the film and wrote, “Kudos to the #Kalki2898AD team for creating a visually stunning spectacle! This film paves the way for more creative storytelling. @nagashwin7 and @VyjayanthiFilms, your vision and courage will inspire many to take bigger strides. Yash’s praise for the film took many fans by surprise, who in turn praised the pan-India star for his support of another actor and another industry’s film. However, many pointed out that the actor has always been known for his support of made-in-India films. Supporters of the film and its lead star Prabhas say that Yash's praise has heightened the excitement surrounding Kalki 2898 AD and call it a ringing endorsement of the courage and vision of the film’s creators
Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The ambitious dystopian sci-fi epic is based on characters from the Mahabharat, merging mythology with science fiction.
