Don’t let this this film burn a hole in your pocket, watch out!

Film: Mr 420 (Kannada)
Director: Pradeep Raj
Cast: Rangayana Raghu, Ganesh, Pranitha
Rating: *1/2

Ganesh and Rangayana Raghu sharing screen space would ideally mean that you are in for laugh riot from start to finish. But Mr 420 that brings them back together, instead disappoints from the beginning to the end.

The film sees the two actors play pickpockets. Ganesh, who is leading a simple life, is forced to shift to Bangalore due to certain unfortunate incidents in his life. Once here, he is coaxed by Raghu, who plays his uncle, to become a pickpocket just like him. Unwillingly Ganesh gives in but soon decides to reform himself for the sake of his lady love, who is played by Pranitha.

Even as the couple start thinking that life will only get better here on, the hero gets caught in a murder case. What happens next is for you to find out and only if you must.

Why do we say so? Well, simply because Mr 420 has nothing new to offer. If anything the film pieces together scenes from many comedy films that you are unlikely to have missed.

Dialogues are crucial to any comic film, but this film is a let down in this department too. Harikrishna’s music also is not something that will linger on. Performances don’t leave you impressed either. This time even Rangayana Raghu does little to provide the much needed entertainment.

Sadhu Kokila police officer act also is not impressive.

As Pranitha is looking to gain a strong foothold in the industry, she would do good to look out for more performance oriented roles. As for Ganesh, his fans may also be left asking for more.  It would do the actor good to be more choosy about his roles and not stereotype himself.

Our final verdict: Don’t let this Mr 420  burn a hole in your pocket, watch out!

Verdict: Nothing new, really
