Twitter recognises the one man army that was US goalkeeper Tim Howard

The Round of 16 clash between Belgium and USA was expected to be a fierce one, but Belgium were still considered to be the stronger team. No one saw what happened next as Howard, who basically carried the US team, saving 16 goals in a brilliant display of football.

It was unfortunate that even though Howard played like a fierce animal the entire game, and made the most saves ever in a World Cup match, he still ended up on the losing side.

But even though Howard went home with a loss in his pocket, the Internet took notice, and so the Howard memes emerged.
