In a good news for lakhs of lakhs of PUBG lovers in India, Battlegrounds Mobile India, which is deemed as the Indianised version of PUBG Mobile India, will soon be launched in India.

It is to be noted that the early access of Battlegrounds Mobile India was made available for Android users on Thursday (June 17) and according to Krafton it has already crossed 5 million downloads. South Korean company Krafton has developed Battlegrounds Mobile India. It may be recalled that PUBG Mobile India was banned by the Indian government in September 2020 due to data privacy concerns.

As Krafton is expected to take some more days to release Battlegrounds Mobile India for everyone, the much-awaited game has already got embroiled in controversy as several people are demanding that the Indian government must ban the desi version of PUBG Mobile India.

In a related development, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has written a letter to Union IT & Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad demanding ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India because it is “not only a threat to national sovereignty and security of India but also harmful for young generations.”

CAIT has also asked Google not to allow Battlegrounds Mobile India developers to use Google Play store platform for the game.

Praveen Khandelwal, the Secretary-General of CAIT wrote on Twitter, “After #PUBG was banned last year [and] now they are making backdoor entry by circumventing Indian laws.”

Notably, Battlegrounds Mobile India is more or less a repackaged version of PUBG Mobile India as it has got several features that are quite similar to PUBG Mobile India. According to CAIT, Battlegrounds Mobile India would endanger India’s national security and would pose a danger for the data and privacy of millions of India’s citizens.

Krafton, however, reportedly is all set to release more slots of the beta version in the coming days. There are Battlegrounds Mobile India APK and OBB download links available, however, you should try these links at your own risk as they are not verified.

It is important to know that the size of the APK and OBB files are 72 MB and 637 MB, respectively. Gamers should also make sure that their device has enough space before downloading the files and has a good WiFi connection.
