Fans of PUBG Mobile India are waiting with bated breath for the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India - the India-specific avatar of PUBG Mobile by PUBG developers Krafton.

The pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India on Android began on May 18. The pre-registration trailer for the same was released on May 18th, and it included famous PUBG Mobile figures Dynamo, Kronten, and Jonathan with Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi.

Battlegrounds Mobile India was redesigned specifically for the Indian audience with an India-centric logo and tricolour hues.

Battlegrounds Mobile India recommended system requirements: Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) or above and at least 2 GB RAM memory.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will be a free-to-play AAA title mobile game.

Krafton has also announced its plan to build an esports ecosystem while updating in-game content regularly.

Battlegrounds Mobile is expected to come with the functionality of Royale Passes on the day of the battle royale game's launch in India. For this, there could be a new season of Battlegrounds Mobile. For the uninformed, Royale Passes in PUBG allow people to earn rewards and purchase various in-game items.

The battle royale game is expected to be similar to the original PUBG Mobile in most aspects. However, a little change here and there in the Indian version of the game can't be ruled out. Battlegrounds Mobile India shared a poster of the likely Ban Tai map location from Sanhok – one of the 4×4 maps available in-game. The map Sanhok was added to PUBG Mobile in September 2018 and is now set to be a part of Battlegrounds Mobile India.

The map is relatively small when compared to the original Erangel and Miramar maps, but bigger than some other recent maps like Livik. Battlegrounds Mobile India will be up for pre-registration before it launches for the masses.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will have restrictions for children and teenagers. Players below 18 years of age will have new restrictions in Battlegrounds Mobile India and will need to register for the game with a phone number that belongs to their parents or guardian.

The policy also mentions that parents or guardians who feel that their child has provided personal information without their consent can contact the developers and request for the information to be deleted from the database. Furthermore, players below the age of 18 will only be able to access the title for a maximum of three hours every day. These players will also not be able to spend over Rs 7,000 per day for in-app purchases.

“Your personal information will be stored and processed on servers located in India and Singapore. However, we may transfer your data to other countries and/or regions to operate the game service and/or to meet legal requirements,” the game’s new privacy policy said.

How is Battlegrounds Mobile India different from PUBG Mobile Lite?

PUBG Mobile Lite is a streamlined version of PUBG Mobile. It is also quite popular among the youth and is meant for players with low-end devices. The 0.21.0 version of PUBG Mobile Lite was rolled out about a month ago and with this update, the battle royale fans can have a seamless experience.

The game only takes around 600MB of storage space & can run seamlessly on 1GB RAM as well. However, the game uses Unreal Engine 4 and is different from the original game in many aspects.

Also, the games, including the number of players per match, game modes, maps, and more are different for both PUBG Lite and Battlegrounds Mobile India.

PUBG Mobile fans must already know that that the latest PUBG Mobile 0.21.0 update is available and can be installed from the Play Store. But, those gamers who are not able to access it from the Play Store can use the external APK links to download the battle royale game.

It may be recalled that the Indian government had banned PUBG Mobile India on September 2, 2020, due to data privacy concerns under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
