FAUG (Fearless and United Guards) has gotten over 5 million downloads ever since the launch on January 26.

FAUG mobile is the top game in Google Play Store with over five million downloads but the graphics have been let down by some pedestrian gameplay.

FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards) has set Google Play Store on fire ever since the launch of the game on January 26. In the latest update, FAU-G has crossed five million downloads on Google Play Store and it has emerged as one of the top gaming apps on Play Store. FAU-G has not yet launched for IoS devices but it is expected that they will give an update in the near future. nCore Games took to Twitter to share that FAU-G has become the top free game on Google Play, which is the only platform it released on. FAU-G is an action game unlike its rival PUBG Mobile India that is a battle royale game. The action is episodic and it is set in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh which was the site of a fierce stand-off between Indian and Chinese troops in June.

FAU-G is being touted as one of the high points in the Make in India campaign and it has been actively promoted by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. 20 percent of the revenue will go to the ‘Bharat Ke Veer' trust. Although the game has been downloaded on a heavy volume, there have been shortcomings highlighted by the comments of users and gamers on Google Play Store. The criticism mainly comes from the fact that the gameplay is pretty boring and there are not much enhancements in the graphics. When one compares with the battle royale aspects of PUBG Mobile India before it was banned, it is pretty pedestrian.

Not high reviews

In many reviews carried by technological sites, FAU-G has been given a slightly below-average rating with the common theme that there was not much variety in the content. The action is mainly close combat and the range of weapons is also not great. However, in a recent release by nCore Games, it stated that it will release a ‘Free for All' and a 5v5 ‘Team Deathmatch' mode soon which could be very interesting. The concept of regaining health by bonfires is a different take from the era of battle royale games in which you would need Runes or potions to regain vitality. In this aspect, the game has a unique twist when it comes to reality.

The lack of variety in the gameplay when it comes to attack has been one of the main reasons why FAU-G has not gotten a favorable rating till now. There are also glitches in maps that are to be sorted. However, the graphics in FAU-G has received a favorable rating. It probably depends on the operating system which is on the Android phone. Higher the OS, better the graphical capability of FAU-G.

There is hope that FAU-G will improve in the near future but the downloads in Google Play Store indicate that it has started well.
