Like many illnesses and health conditions, heart diseases too could run in the family. Here are some heart conditions that could have been passed on to you through your genes and what you need to do about them.

A few inherited heart illness as per British Heart Foundation

Inherited heart rhythm disturbances:

Long QT syndrome (LQTS)
Brugada syndrome 
Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) 
Progressive cardiac conduction defect (PCCD)

Cardiomyopathies:

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 
Dilated cardiomyopathy 
Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy

Very high cholesterol levels:

Familial hypercholesterolaemia

What you need to do even you if have received a clean bill of health from your doctors:

-Look up your family history of heart illnesses

-If find any heart diseases prevail in your family, make sure you maintain a good a lifestyle and take up habits that reduce risks of you getting them.

-Consult your doctor about the inherited heart disease and share the family history with him/her.
