Deadpool's Avengers rejection letter is the most Tony Stark thing ever

There was a time Iron Man told Deadpool to bother Professor Xavier instead of trying to become an Avenger.

Ryan Reynolds and the team responsible for Deadpool's promotion never miss an opportunity to highlight the quirky but dark sense of humour of the Merc with a Mouth.

On Sunday, when Avengers: Infinity War will post the box office numbers for the first weekend, Reynolds posted a picture of a letter that Deadpool received from none other than Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

The image was captioned, "From a guy who never knows when to quit, I'm glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers"

This was a nod from Deadpool to Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As it turns out, when The Avengers (the very first time Earth's mightiest heroes came together to save the planet) released in 2012, Deadpool too had applied to be the part of the supergroup.

But just like a Mean Girls clique, Tony Stark denied that application with a curt response.

No.

Absolutely not.

Go bother Prof. X.

No.

Sincerely,

Tony Stark.

But turns out, given the complications and the sheer size of the deal it will be 2019 when the acquisitions will be complete. And if we are to go by what Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has been saying on Avengers: Infinity War tour, it will take a couple of years more before these X-Men characters, Fantastic Four can be brought under the same Marvel umbrella.

Until then, let's enjoy Deadpool 2 coming out on May 18.
