The final trailer for Deadpool 2 has landed and it has superhero references aplenty.
As the trailer begins the Merc with Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) talks to the viewers about 'knowing the drill.' Then it goes full throttle with pop cultural references that includes taking a dig at his co-star Josh Brolin who also plays Thanos in upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. And trust me, that is not the only gem in this 2.23-minutes-long video.
"Pump the hate breaks, Thanos," is how Deadpool addresses Cable. Later in the footage, while name calling is at its peak and so are action scenes, Cable says, "You are no f***ing hero. You are just a clown dressed up as a sex toy."
Pat comes Deadpool's reply, "So dark — are you sure you’re not from the DC universe?”
Taking potshots is not the only highlight of the trailer. Deadpool is also busy recruiting superheroes off either LinkedIn (or maybe Craigslist?). This is the first time some of these X-Force members get a proper introduction. There is Bedlum, Shatterstar, and Domino (Zazie Beetz). Her superpowers include being lucky which in her opinion is certainly cinematic.
Deadpool begs to differ but the action scene montage backs up Domino's claim.
Then comes another Goonies reference when Deadpool calls Cable 'One-Eyed Willy.'
The trailer is full of amazing stunts and comedic reactions as every other teaser, TV spot has been so far.
