Avengers: Infinity War is still going strong at the Box Office and the ending has made all of us wait with bated breath for the next movie in the sequel. Avengers: Infinity War ended on a cliff-hanger with half the universe disappearing after Thanos snaps his finger while wearing the Infinity Gauntlet adorned with all six stones.
Avengers 4 which is set to hit the theatres in 2019 finally served up its synopsis which states: “A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth instalment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
While Infinity War brings the count to 19, we are still going to get three more movies – Ant-Man and Wasp, Captain Marvel and Avengers 4.
Three things about the synopsis caught our eyes – ‘the turning point’ and ‘fragility of their reality’. This suggests the Avengers, at least those who have survived, will use the Time Stone and the Reality Stone.
Doctor Strange, before turning into dust, had predicted that we are in the endgame. He had gone forward in time to see that there’s only on reality out of 14 billion where the Avengers beat Thanos.
Set photos of the fourth Avengers movie suggests that the remaining heroes will go back in time to the Battle of New York, which it’s believed is the ‘turning point’. The hint at sacrifices also means that there will be some very real deaths. And it looks like it will be the original Avengers, who are all alive at the end of Infinity War.
Here’s what we know so far:
1) The title is unknown – Marvel hasn’t revealed the name of the movie so far, but it definitely won’t be Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet.
2) Loki and Quicksilver are definitely back – Two fan favourites are going to come back in Avengers 4 – Quicksilver and Loki. Quicksilver died in Age of Ultron and Loki was killed in the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War.
3) Time travel and Quantum Realm is on the cards
The phrase and set photos have hinted at time travel and also a step into the Quantum Realm. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted Tony Stark in a full Shield agent uniform while Loki is wearing his retro Avengers costume from the Battle of New York. One fan wrote: “"I’M LATE BUT I just realised that this has to be time travel and not a flashback because there are two Tonys in the same place?? (see the door behind loki and tony) ALSO someone removes the muffle and the shackles from loki’s wrists.”
4) Captain Marvel is definitely in it
Captain Marvel, who was hinted at the end-credit scene of Avengers: Infinity War when Nick Fury tries to call her on a pager is definitely in the movie. The Captain Marvel origin movie will also have a retro theme and be set in the 90s. She will be the first superhero Nick Fury met and alluded to in the first Iron Man movie.
