Tamayo Perry, the 49-year-old actor known for his roles in movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Blue Crush, and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, died after being fatally attacked by a shark near Goat Island in Hawaii on Sunday afternoon, according to Honolulu Emergency Medical Service.

The well-known surfer went out to surf near Mokuauia, close to Laie, Hawaii. He was discovered deceased at 1 pm, as confirmed by sources. A caller reported the incident, stating they had witnessed a man with apparent shark bites near Malaekahana Beach, near Kahuku. Perry's body showed signs of multiple shark bites.

Shortly before 1 pm, emergency services responded to Malaekahana Beach. Lifeguards arrived and brought Perry to shore using a jet ski. After the death of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides star, Tamayo Perry, Ocean Safety officials posted shark warnings in the area. 

As per Hawaii News Now, Honolulu mayor Rick Blangiardi called his death a 'tragic loss.' He described Tamayo as a legendary waterman and highly respected individual. Acting Honolulu Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lage described Tamayo Perry as a 'lifeguard loved by all.' He noted that Perry was well-known on the North Shore and recognized internationally as a professional surfer.
