Warner Bros revealed the official logo of their next superhero movie Shazam!
This is the first superhero movie coming out of DC Extended Universe after Justice League. Jason Momoa's Aquaman is set to release end of this year while Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman 2 will begin their production in June. With nothing else on the cards, one can be sure Warner Bros will push for a big marketing campaign for the movie starring Zachary Levi in the titular role.
Directed by David F Sandberg of Lights Out fame, Shazam! will tell the story of young Billy Batson who get the power of the superhero Shazam. The makers described the movie as 'Big but with super-powers'. Levi will fight Doctor Sivana, played by Mark Strong to emerge victor at the end of the movie.
The logo reveal was a tease of a cast interview video with Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday. The interview shall reveal more details about the movie. So far fans have been snacking on leaked set photos and videos only.
The logo features the iconic lightning bolt, the symbol of the superhero very prominently, distancing itselt from the dark palett followed by DC movies so far.
The movie is scheduled to release in April 2019.
