Narendra Modi took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India at Rashtrapathi Bhavan amidst SAARC leaders. His 45-membered cabinet members were all sworn in at the ceremony. Below are the updates:

Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in as India's 15th prime minister at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt this evening.

An unprecedented 4,000 guests, including heads of the government of eight countries (of which seven are from SAARC), all 777 MPs of both Houses, the outgoing PM and his council of ministers, all governors, CMs, ambassadors and other constitutional authorities like the chief justice of India will attend the event.

NDTV reports suggest, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Dr Harsh Vardhan from Delhi, are among others tipped to be Cabinet ministers.  It further says, Venkaiah Naidu is expected to be in the Union Cabinet as are Sadananda Gowda and Ananth Kumar from Karnataka, Uma Bharti and Maneka Gandhi, Najma Heptulla, Maharashtra leader Gopinath Munde, UP leader Kalraj Mishra, Jual Oram from Odisha, Narendra Singh Tomar, Radha Mohan Singh and Thawar Chand Gehlot.

 According to Rediff.com, BJP leadeSushma Swaraj head the Ministry of External Affairs, while Arun Jaitley is all set to take over the Finance portfolio. It also confirmed that Modi's close aide, Rajnath Singh, will be next Minister of Home Affairs, and Ravi Shankar Prasad will take responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Nripendra Mishra, it informed will be the Principal Secretary in Prime Minister's Office. 

No representation fm Apna Dal. Anupriya Patel, who met Rajnath singh, was told that they cannot be accomodate now.

All probable ministers met for tea with Narendra Modi, informs Chirag Paswan. "Our national president Ramvilas Paswan was also present," he added.

There are seven leaders from Maharashtra to have gotten a cabinet position, informs Gopinath Munde. "6 from the BJP and 1 from Shiv Sena," he said.

Further Shiv Sena's Anant Geete, confirmed to ANI, "Yes I am the sole minister from Shiv Sena in the cabinet. More will be inducted after cabinet expansion in a month."

Modi and his 44 ministers: 

India's Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi is expected to have a 45-member council of ministers who will take oath along with him on Monday evening. The council of ministers is expected to have 23 Cabinet ministers, 10 ministers of state with independent charge and 11 ministers of state, according to sources.

Smriti Irani is pegged to get HRD Ministry while Modi's close confidante Arun Jaitley is set to get defence ministry. 

Those likely to be sworn in as Cabinet ministers include Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Sadanand Gowda, Uma Bharati, Najma Heptulla, Gopinath Munde, Kalraj Mishra, Maneka Gandhi, Anant Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Smriti Irani, Harsh Vardhan and Thavarchand Gehlot.

Other Cabinet ministers are Ram Vilas Paswan (of the Lok Janashakti Party), Ashok Gajpati Raju (Telugu Desam Party), Anant Geete (Shiv Sena), Harsimrat Kaur (Akali Dal), Narendra Singh Tomar, Jual Oram and Radhamohan Singh.

The MoS with independent charge include Rao Inderjit Singh, Gen (retd) V K Singh, Santosh Gangwar, Sripad Naik, Dharmendra Pradhan, Sarvanand Sonwal, Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goel, Jitendra Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman.

The MoS are G M Sidheswara, Manoj Sinha, Upendra Kushwaha, P Radhakrishan, Kiran Rijiju, Krishna Pal Gujjar, Sanjay Kumar Balyan, Mansukhbhai Vasava, Rao Saab Danve, Vishnu Dev Sai and Sudarshan Bhagat.
