Modi govt preparing ground for another Balakot-like strike: Mehbooba Mufti

In another tweet the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, while reacting to Modi's speech at Kathua rally, said Kashmir belonged to Kashmiris and was not anybody's heirloom to inherit.

"Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris. Not anybody's heirloom to inherit. Self seeking politics is intentionally blurring lines between self & country, exploiting armed forces to grab power, fuelling communal politics & dividing the country in the name of religion. Kuch yaad aaya (do you remember anything)?" she said.

BJP president Amit Shah Saturday accused the Congress of doing 'Ilu Ilu' with terrorists, in an apparent reference to a popular Bollywood love song from the nineties.
In the song, 'Ilu Ilu' is an acronym for I love you.
 

"Rahul baba's guru Sam Pitroda said do not bomb (Pakistan) but negotiate... Rahul baba if your party wants to do 'Ilu Ilu' with terrorists you can do that. But our intention is clear, if a shot is fired, we will reply with a bomb," Shah said here, addressing an election meeting in support of BJP's Badaun candidate Sanghmitra Maurya.

This led Mehbooba Mufti, who has been crying hoarse about Section 370, slammed Amit Shah. He said: “You’d be forgiven for assuming this was said by a street ruffian & not a national party president. Rahul Gandhi has paid the price for terrorism with his loved ones so he out of all the people doesn’t need your gangster style advice.”

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti stoked a major political storm on Wednesday after she set 2020 deadline for ending J&K's accession with the union of India. Mufti made these remarks shortly after filing her nomination papers from Anantnag parliamentary constituency.

"The 2020 will also be the deadline of J&K for the entire country. If the conditions of the accession are removed, then the relationship of Jammu and Kashmir with the union of India will also end," Mehbooba said.

She was reacting to BJP president Amit Shah's statement that they would abrogate the Article 35 A from the Constitution of India in 2020.

"Amusing. Amit Shah daydreams about scrapping Article 370 and PM hopes that Pak implodes. Nation wants to move on and focus on issues like unemployment, inflation, etc but BJP can't drop its obsession with Pak. This election forgets real issues, divisive politics will rule the roost," Mufti said.
