August 5 marks as one of the historic days as the foundation stone of Ayodhya Ram Mandir will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

The day has finally come for the mega-event when the decades-old contention in the holy land of Ayodhya will reach its crucible with the foundation stone being laid for the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will himself be present at the event.

Ayodhya has been decorated with nearly 400 quintals of flowers for the 'bhumi pujan' of the Ram temple today.

Flower decorators have been engaged to decorate the stretch between Saket PG College, where the Prime Minister will land, to the Nayaghat area.

General Secretary of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra, Champat Rai said that those carrying invitation cards will only be allowed inside the venue. He further added that the security detail around the Prime Minister will be very tight.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on a plea filed by actress Rhea Chakraborty demanding that the FIR registered in Bihar against her be transferred to Mumbai where the investigation into the late actor's death is already underway today.

Gyms and Yoga Institutes across India are set to reopen their doors to the public from today as part of the central government's arrangements to reopen the economy in the third phase of unlocking of Unlock 3.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a set of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures for the reopening of the gyms and yoga institutes across the country, which are reopening amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak.

There will be curfew/restrictions in Srinagar on August 4 and 5. A series of inputs that have been received suggest that some groups are planning to observe August 5 as 'Black Day'.

More than 56 lakh people have been affected by the floods in Assam, which have wreaked havoc across 30 districts of the state. The state government has set up 621 relief camps for the affected people.

In Bihar, 60 lakh people are affected in 16 districts. Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur are the worst-hit districts with 18.61 lakh and 13.64 lakh people suffering from the calamity.
