When the Emergency was imposed in 1975, Modi was forced to go into hiding. 

In 1973, Narendra Modi was given responsibility of working for a massive summit organised in Siddhpur where he met top leaders of the Sangh.

In 1978, Narendra Modi gets more responsibility in the Sangh. Becomes ‘Vibhag Pracharak’ and asked to work in Vadodara.

In 1987, Narendra Modi marked his entry into mainstream politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
